Northern's Middle School Students 'Pay It Forward'
In observance of Martin Luther King’s Day, Northern Middle School students, under the guidance of Northern PTSC, the GIVING club and STAT, remembered Dr. King’s great works by spending the day conducting random acts of kindness and service. Students shared their acts of kindness upon their return to school on January 19th. Acts of Kindness and service included helping out at area soup kitchens, helping out at local retirement communities, supporting incoming Haitian refugees housed at McGuire AFB and assistanting children with special needs in preparation for the Special Olympics. Northern Middle School students submitted over 500 essays describing their good deeds. Parent can read highlights of the students’ good work in the spring edition of PAW prints, Northern Middle School’s literary magazine.
Volunteers Needed to Support PTSC Book Fair
The PTSC will be hosting a book fair in the Middle School from March 1st through March 5th and we are looking for volunteers! It is an easy and enjoyable experience, and the proceeds will be used to meet PTSC goals, such as providing scholarships to our high school graduates. If you can offer some time to work at the book fair (as little as two hours would help), please email Martha Sapp at nburlingtonptsc@gmail.com with your preferred day/time, and how long you’d like to work. The book fair hours are 8-2:30.
Thank you!
